Travertine is a porous stone with natural holes from formation. In Volcano Travertine these holes are filled and the surface brushed, which makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The brushed surface is treated with a wire brush across the surface to create the effect of centuries of natural aging. It must be sealed prior to grouting and then again after installation. This travertine comes in rich earthy tones and feels very soft underfoot. It is the stone of choice when trying to achieve a Mediterranean look. One of its attributes is that it keeps cool in hot weather, and for this reason has been used around pools. Volcano Travertine is sold in a set of 8 sq ft, and matching coping is available.
